Josh Robinson's Mobile Tool Cart

I n the world of automotive sports having access to your tools in any/every location can mean the difference of getting the win or going home with a distaste in your mouth. We first met Josh Robinson at his drift event in Minnesota put on by Texas Drift Academy. We spent some time on a frozen lake learning how to put cars sideways in spectacular fashion. After finishing up we spoke with Josh about his issues he was having on his drift car and what we could do to help him out to help sponsor our Co-brand GC Cooling.

Our Discussions led to him needing a tool cart to not only haul tools to/from the hot pits of his drift events but a functional way  to transport his Nitrous bottles for his newest ride he dubs the “Euroofighter”, A kevlar carbon fiber wrapped drift car. Running a monstrous nitrous enhanced LS from Texas Speed.

Process & Results

After speaking with Josh and getting the basics of what he needed, we drew up some ideas and got to work. After getting approvals we worked with our friend Joe Rosenberg from 515 Customs to cut out and fabricate the entire cart. We first started with the frame structure to support not only. the tools and shelves but the entire cart itself. Utilizing his plasma table and our combined fabrication skills we put the cart together in a little over two weeks. After assembly we spent a few hours sanding and getting it prepped for paint. After letting the black paint sit over night we vinyl wrapped the entire cart with custom graphics to match the team.
